Affordable Living for Seniors
Going beyond advocacy in the fight for affordable housing, Saint Luke donated the land adjacent to the church and school to be developed into affordable Independent and Supportive (Assisted) Living Senior Housing in cooperation with the Renaissance Companies of Chicago.
The primary goal for this venture is to provide housing opportunities for senior citizens who currently find themselves, because of their fixed-income status, being forced out of the very community they had worked all their lives to support and advance.
The partnership resulted in two rental properties adjacent to the Saint Luke campus with a combined 197 units, 90% of which are offered at affordable rates.

An independent living apartment building for residents 55 and older.
90% of the units are offered at "affordable
rates" (sliding scale
federal guidelines based on income). 10% are offered at market rate.

SAINT LUKE RENAISSANCE
Greenview Place
Designed to help seniors (65+) who do not require a nursing home, but who need a little help with some of their daily activities in order to enjoy the privacy of their own apartments.
90% of the units are offered at an affordable rate, 10% at market rates.
